The Atlanta International Arts School

The Atlanta International Arts School is a mid-sized arts magnet school in Atlanta, Georgia. This proposal strives to represent itself as a key player in the urban context of Castleberry Hill, Atlanta.  By Stretching its program throughout the entire site, an unusual perimeter Block condition is achieved. While the proposal appears to have an urban face on each street, half of these faces are actually courtyard walls, creating an urban context for the city and an intimate response to the school itself.

As the building traverses along its triangular-block shape, the street face begins to get steeper and steeper until the building finally meets its apex on Northside Drive [a very heavily traversed Atlanta Road] where it juts out into the city context creating a presence for itself in the urban landscape.
